Senior Mockup Installer

We are hiring a Senior Mockup Installer to install and reconfigure Steelcase furniture and architecture products on mockup opportunities in Grand Rapids and Field locations to help win business on key opportunities.

Who You Are:

You will coordinate and lead mockup installations in Grand Rapids and around the country to ensure that Steelcase product is installed as intended in order to win and secure business.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years of technical installation experience

• Comfortable with 50% travel

• Local to Grand Rapids

• Position is 100% in the office/on site. No remote work.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Organizational and planning skills applied to large, complex furniture installations.

• Extensive knowledge of Steelcase products requiring continuous study of new products and product changes.

• Ability to interpret installation plans and isometric drawings.

• Requires the skill to use and maintain a variety of hand, power and mechanical tools.

• Must be able to lead and motivate technicians and temporary work force to accomplish mockup installations correctly and on time.

• Must be flexible and able to communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively with Steelcase personnel, dealers, and customers.

What You Will Be Doing:

1. Determines the scope/extent of set up and coordinates activities and assigns technicians to mockups accordingly. Ensures that mockups are completed according to detailed installation drawings and on schedule. Pre-checks mockups with designers to ensure design understanding.

1. Negotiates scheduling and shipping details for mockup activities. Answers questions and resolves issues while ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are met. Work with dealers when necessary to obtain and schedule support personnel.

1. Monitors performance of dealer installers, provides guidance and coaching to installers and provides feedback to dealer lead installers.

1. Reports issues regarding quality, product design and layout design problems encountered during installation work. Communicates this information to appropriate parties, using the Laser process.

1. Problem solve capabilities to identify root cause on installation and product quality issues. Ability to fix and repair previously installed product in the field.
