    Job Summary:
    Northfield Public Schools Community Education is now accepting applications to fill staffing needs for the general summer recreation program. Instructors will coach and or work with youth of the elementary - middle school age, and will be responsible for working their specific program area at the designated program times, usually mornings 3 - 5 days a week, beginning on June 9 and running through the end of July. A few programs require afternoon or Saturday commitments, and run during the month of August. Aquatic staff will be required to sign up to work two additional swim lesson dates on a Saturday or weekday evening, and will attend one to two further training sessions throughout the summer. All recreation staff should schedule absences around scheduled work time. Family vacations, sport camps, etc. are to be expected, however absences may not exceed five days, and no vacation will be granted during the first or last week of programming, unless in rare circumstances, and approved by the recreation coordinator in advance. There will be no general recreation programming June 30 - July 4, 2025.

    Responsibilities:
    • Follow the lead of the program supervisor, and will assist with programming.
    • Arrive early, know and fully execute the plan for each day, engage 100% throughout the program, teach general disciplines of each activity, enhance skill development, build relationships with youth, and communicate as needed with parents/guardians.
    • Show enthusiasm and create fun, positive experiences through words, actions, and non-verbal's.
    • Keep track of time worked and record on timesheet.
    • Openly communicate with the recreation coordinator, in a timely manner, regarding vacation requests, program issues, etc.

    Baseball Outdoor Adventure
    Soccer Camps/Community Events
    Softball Tennis
    Track & Field Sand Volleyball
    Lacrosse Aquatics (WSI instructors, Lifeguards, Non-certified instructors)
    Skateboarding T-ball
