Materials Laboratory Manager Posting Number: JR106236 Location: Colorado Engineering a world of possibilities Lab Manager for the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department. This person will oversee management of CoorsTek 250, Colorado Center for Advanced Ceramics labs and the SIF (Shared Instrument Facility). THE OPPORTUNITY Colorado School of Mines (Mines) is seeking a technical professional to help manage some of its Materials and Manufacturing laboratory facilities and affiliated equipment, and to assist in the management of its Nanofabrication equipment within the Mines Shared Instrumentation Facilities. Mines takes great pride in its world-leading hands-on and interdisciplinary education and research. The George S. Ansell Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and the Mechanical Engineering Department share laboratory facilities focused on materials fabrication, measurement, and testing, which are used for both teaching and research. Major responsibilities for this position are to ensure that instruments are operational and available to users, to coordinate maintenance/repairs, to train and authorize users, to monitor financial status of the laboratories, and to serve as the primary contact for the laboratory facilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in a related field (e.g., welding, machining, electrical technologies) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR BS in a related field of engineering or applied science.
