Job Summary The Director of Patient Access is responsible for providing operational leadership and setting the strategic vision for Clinic and Emergency registration functions within the health system. The Director will work to ensure departmental activities are carried out in line with the organization's mission, vision, values and goals and done so in a fiscally responsible manner. The Director works in collaboration with stakeholders throughout the organization and community to ensure that Patient Access processes are safe, compliant with regulatory guidelines, efficient and patient centered. This position reports to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle. Job Responsibilities -Vendor Negotiations: Negotiating contracts with vendors for Patient Access services and technology. -Data Analysis: Analyzing Patient Access data to identify trends and implement process improvements. -Team Leadership: Leading, training, and evaluating the Patient Access team to ensure high-quality results. -Budget Management: Developing and monitoring the department budget, including resource allocation for staffing, purchased services and technology -Coordination with Clinical Departments: Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure Patient Access workflows promote organizational throughput, quality, and safety goals -Appointment Scheduling: Managing the scheduling of patient appointments to optimize resources and minimize wait times. -Policy development and Implementation: Maintaining policies and procedures that reflect the operational environment while ensuring adherence to promote patient satisfaction and safety as well as compliance with government regulations. -Oversight of Patient Registration: Directing the efficient, accurate and patient friendly process of collecting patient information at check-in and admissions. Education Required: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field. Preferred: Experience Required: 3-5 years leadership experience in Patient Access or Patient Financial Services. Experience with Epic Revenue Cycle applications, including Cadence, Prelude, Grand Central, and Resolute. Preferred: Skills/Cert/Licenses Required: Effective written and verbal communication with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Effective leadership, team building and coaching abilities. Ability to effectively use data analysis in the problem solving, performance improvement and decision making processes. Ability to effectively manage competing priorities to achieve quality, timely outcomes. Demonstrates integrity and high professional standards. Ability to align departmental direction and KPIs with overall organizational goals.
