Description

Summary / Position Purpose:

The Director of Sales at Alliance plans, leads, organizes, controls, executes, and coordinates all Outside Sales activities within the stated area of responsibility to ensure that desired profitable sales objectives are met. This role implements business development strategies and tactics, as well as facilitates reciprocal communications with clients to ensure the continuation of a good working relationship. The Director of Sales maintains and builds business relationships with key suppliers including business reviews and planning. This role inspires accountability of the Outside Sales Team through motivation, skills improvement, product knowledge development, and talent management.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:



  • Talent Management: hires, trains, coaches, develops, motivates, evaluates, and monitors the performance of the Outside Sales Team
  • Sales Strategy: develop, execute, and maintain an approved sales plan emphasizing profitable growth
  • Manage key client relationships through all phases of the sales cycle
  • Track customer information, reports, and forecast future trends in client needs / behaviors
  • Manage leads, contacts, opportunities, and times/territory management via INFOR CRM
  • Build & Support Core Vendor Strategy to include joint business plan development and execution
  • Serve as troubleshooter in helping to resolve sales related issues between branch and customer
  • Assist in prospecting key target accounts to support new account acquisition strategy
  • Translation of Key Wins to other Sales Managers/Zones
  • Sales Plan/Forecasting for assigned Sales area/team
  • Work collaboratively with Zone Managers and VP of Sales to further develop Sales Effectiveness
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred
  • 8+ years proven industrial sales experience in the industry
  • 6+ years of leadership experience is required



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations
