What You Will Do:
Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our Transportation Team in Camp Hill! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Camp Hill office.

What you'll be challenged to do:
This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Bridge Engineer who thrives in a collaborative team environment. Desired candidate will be experienced with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation design and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission policies, standards, and specifications and have proven project experience as a bridge engineer. Successful candidate will possess demonstrated experience in structure analysis, structural capacity analysis (ratings), and bridge design for new and rehabilitations (rail/highway bridges). The Bridge Engineer wcould also perform bridge condition safety inspections with requirements for short-term travel, but this is not a requirement.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Perform and check bridge geometry, structural design, and quantity calculations.
  • Prepare and develop details and plans for highway/railway bridges and related structures.
  • Participate in the development of construction contract documents, such as specifications, cost estimates and review construction documents such as shop and working drawings.
  • Perform bridge inspections, load capacity rating analysis, and develop structure inspection reports.
  • Perform highway/rail bridge/structure condition inspections.
  • Develop bridge condition inspection reports with effective repair/rehabilitation recommendations.
  • Coordinate field activity, access equipment, and MOT vendors.
  • Perform or check structural load capacity rating analyses for rail and highway structures.
  • Review existing bridge/structure plans to identify critical elements, details, fracture critical members, and structural load paths.
  • Assist with inspection coordination and analysis activities.
Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:
  • BS in Civil Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • 4+ years of applicable experience
What we prefer you bring:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the analysis and design of concrete and structural steel bridges (new and rehabilitation) and related simple and complex structures.
  • Working knowledge of Design Manuals, Design Guidelines and AASHTO Bridge Design standards
  • Prior experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation projects preferred.
  • Working knowledge of plan development with CADD required (Microstation preferred)
  • Certified Bridge Inspector meeting the requirements as defined by FHWA is preferred but not required.
  • Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Some experience with management of project tasks
  • Ability to work in a team environment, self-starter, demonstrated organization skills, team player, and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
Compensation:
The range for this position is salary range is $80,000 - $100,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
