What does a Manufacturing Line Lead do at Swire Coca-Cola? Part of a high performing team that is engaged and committed to World Class Manufacturing performance, ensuring that the safety of our people always comes first, while building a line culture of continuous improvement with a focus on zero operational defects and losses. The incumbent, in conjunction with the other team functional leaders, has shift accountability of the manufacturing line results including safety, quality, reliability, production attainment, productivity, and costs. This includes settingand leading shiftdaily directionsetting, planned stops andaction plans to attack and reduce losses. An effectiveLine Shift Leadersets high expectations and standards, coaches, holds the team to these standards and ensures that every person on the team understands the results expected. Owns equipment and DMS (Daily Management Systems). Receives and gives coaching. The Line Shift Leader ensures that every person on the team understands thefeedback from the DDS (Daily Direction Setting), theresults from the previous shift and theresults expectedfor their shift. Confirms theproductionsequence and change overplan for theirshift andallocates staff to their workstation and the planned stop during the shift. Job Details: Schedule: 5am - 5:30pm (rotating schedule, OT as needed)
Responsibilities:
- Ensure theirshift team complies with the companySafety and Quality procedures
- Coach, train and develop theshiftteam.Work with the line functional teamto determine root cause and solveline losses andperformance outages
- Owner ofLine shift DDS processincluding shift to shift handover; ensure team creates robust plan for planned stop andall team members haveclearly defined roles and actionsfor delivering the results for thecurrent and next shift.Communicate DDSline, department, and plant direction to teams
- Team Development:Work with the Manufacturing LineManager to plan and execute training for the team. Coach team on howtoowntheirskill profile to feedneedsinto training plans
- Work withotherLine Shift leaders to resolve staffing issues or coordinate staffing across the shift,follow escalation process for any areas thatare identified as critical. For example,seriousissues regardingsafety,quality,or breakdowns
- Know plant standards around safety, break-time,quality,vacation scheduling, overtime management, absenteeism, etc. Provide constructive feedback andrewards,role modelsolid behaviors in these areas
- Build own technical skills and help theManufacturing Line Manager andTechnical Specialists setpriorities to maximize processreliability/uptime resultsand loss reduction
- Ensure all shift documentation, SOP processesand ordersare completedper standard
Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or GED) required
- 2+ years working as production/machine operator required
- Experience in high-speed food manufacturing and / or working knowledge of bottling operations
- Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial technology. Food manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to perform essential functions with little or no supervision
