Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist will organize and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy services for inpatients and/or outpatients. The primary goal is to restore function, prevent disability, improve wound healing, and assist patients in reaching their maximum level of functioning. The role involves providing assessments, treatments, and wound care, including some invasive procedures. The Physical Therapist will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities:





  • Provide age-appropriate care to patients, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.



  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans to improve wound healing, restore function, and prevent disability.



  • Implement treatment plans using physical means such as exercise, mobility training, manual techniques, and modalities like heat, cold, and electrical stimulation.



  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.



  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members.



  • Supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and rehabilitation aides.



  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.



  • Ensure compliance with JCAHO and Medicare guidelines for documentation and billing.





Qualifications:





  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.



  • Current or temporary license as a Physical Therapist in the State of Maryland.



  • Current CPR certification.



  • Two (2) or more years of experience in Physical Therapy preferred.





Skills & Abilities:





  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.



  • Ability to assess and interpret patient data to develop appropriate treatment plans.



  • Knowledge of age-specific physical, motor, sensory, cognitive, and psychosocial characteristics.



  • Familiarity with hospital policies and procedures.

Salary Range: Minimum 36.47 per hour - Maximum 60.21 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
