Job Title: Mid-Level Staff Member - Energetics Business Development (Navy & MILDEPS)

Location: Indian Head, NCR, with remote work options available

Position Type: Full-Time, Mid-Level Role

Overview:

We are seeking a Mid-Level Staff Member with expertise in Energetics to support business development initiatives and interact with the U.S. Navy and other Military Departments (MILDEPS). This role will involve conducting Energetics wargaming, operational analysis, and contributing to specialized Energetics studies and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Energetics systems, excellent analytical skills, and an ability to collaborate with military stakeholders to enhance energetic material systems and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in business development efforts by interfacing with Navy and MILDEPS personnel to support Energetics-related projects and identify opportunities for growth in the defense sector.
  • Energetics Wargaming & Operational Analysis: Conduct Energetics wargaming sessions and operational analysis, supporting the evaluation of Energetics systems and their integration into military operations.
  • Energetic Operations Analyses & Studies: Participate in the planning and execution of Energetics and Energetic Operations Analyses and specialized studies to assess system performance and operational needs.
  • Energetic Materials Systems Concept of Operations: Support the development of concepts of operations (CONOPS) for energetic material systems, ensuring alignment with military requirements and mission objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives within Energetics, recommending solutions to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Energetics Organizational Restructuring: Collaborate with senior staff to implement organizational changes and restructure Energetics systems to improve operational effectiveness within defense organizations.



Qualifications:

  • Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research (OR), Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (MECH), Electrical Engineering (ELEC), or a related engineering discipline.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Energetics, defense contracting, or related fields, with a focus on operational analysis and Energetics systems.
    • Strong technical background in Energetics wargaming, operational analysis, and Energetic materials systems.
    • Familiarity with Energetic Operations Analyses, specialized studies, and process improvement initiatives.
    • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with military stakeholders.


  • Desired:

    • Former military experience, particularly within Navy or other military branches related to Energetics and munitions.
    • Experience in explosives/munitions testing or other relevant experience with Energetics testing and safety protocols.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience applying these skills to real-world operational challenges.
    • Security clearance is preferred or the ability to obtain one.





Work Environment:

  • This position is based at Indian Head, in the National Capital Region (NCR), with flexibility for some remote work. Occasional travel to military and defense sites may be required.
