Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:



  • Maintains confidentiality of all medical records and employee health information.
  • Create and coordinate annual testing schedules for OSHA mandated medical surveillance programs.
  • Provide administrative support to medical department staff.
  • Assist with injury intake and first-aid.
  • Maintain medical supply inventory.
  • Coordinate clinic appointments.
  • Ensure required documentation is properly completed for all medical surveillance programs.
  • Communicate discrepancies with staff nurse.
  • Compiles and enters data in electronic data system.
  • Perform occupational medical surveillance.
  • Performs inspections and audits.
  • Transports waste material from satellite storage to the central storage area.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by Manager.
  • Required to maintain First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications:



  • Formal training in occupational health and safety is preferred.


    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
    • 1-2 years of relevant experience with health and safety programs and associated regulations is preferred.
    • Ability to communicate efficiently both written and orally

Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

The work requires climbing of over six (6) feet in height using a ladder or scaffolding and to bend and stoop to reach the underside of the tanks. Physical requirements include bending, stooping, and climbing for approximately 30% of the shift and standing for approximately 70% of the shift. Working conditions may consist of loud noise, welding, paint fumes, and grinding dust.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites such as the noise level in the work environment can be very loud with high temperatures at times.

Physical Demands:

As a material planner, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle and operate tools or controls for the length of their entire shift. The employee needs full range of motion in their arms and hands in this position. All material planners must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some material planners also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.
