Job Description

The Vertex Co-op Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. You will be working closely with and learning from some of the brightest people in the industry. Not only will co-ops learn about their day-to-day tasks through their specific work assignments, but they will interact and have exposure to our organizational leaders and their teams.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our Global Human Resources team as a Co-op. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in HR and contribute to our organization's success. Our HR department is comprised of multiple HR disciplines and capabilities, such as Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Inclusion, Diversity & Equity, Total Rewards, Organizational Design, People Experience, People Analytics and HR Business Partnering. The actual project(s) assigned for this Co-op to make an impact will be determined prior to starting.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Talent Operations co-op, you will play a key role in improving the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Talent Acquisition team. The Talent Acquisition team is reponsible for recruiting top talent into all business units across our global locations. As Vertex continues to grow in size and complexity, our Talent Acquisition team is focused on scaling our processes and data integrity. The Talent Operations co-op will be responsible for supporting several operational and analytical projects that will contribute to our team's ability to deliver quality hires efficiently at scale. Sample projects include:

  • Support cross-functional talent acquisition projects and initiatives, including working within our tech stack (ATS, CRM, and Sourcing Tools)
  • Assist with the creation of talent acquistion reporting and insights and process documentation
  • Support the standardization of operational health measurement and monitoring for TA, including recruitment speed and quality metrics
  • Assist with the creation of vendor scorecard templates for TA vendors to ensure KPIs are met
  • Contribute to the creation and launch of a hiring manager survey to improve the interviewer experience throughout the hiring process
  • Manage the TA Operations bi-weekly newsletter by collecting key updates related to process, technology, or training and sharing with the TA team
  • Assist with refreshing and maintaining our TA dashboards, which help us to measure and monitor data related to recruitment process and external competitor insights.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or advanced degree program
  • Interest in pursuing a career in People Operations or Human Resources
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interpret and communicate insights from data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and collaborative skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Legal authorizationto work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
  • Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before July 2025
  • Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July - December 2025

Program Dates: July - December 2025, Full Time

Pay Range 20.00 - 35.00 USD/hour
