Industrial Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Assistant performs routine inspection, preventative maintenance, and repairs on shop infrastructure systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine checks and inspections on air compressors, overhead doors, overhead cranes, lube oil systems, lube oil dispensing systems, and other maintenance shop equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on electric motors, pumps, overhead doors, air compressors, overhead cranes, lube oil dispensing systems, and other general maintenance shop equipment
• Perform service and repairs on all shop infrastructure components (including items such as changing lights in shop, replacing components of the oil lube system, replacing pump packings, minor plumbing issues, minor electrical issues, and maintain facilities equipment)
• Assist the Industrial maintenance technician with performing in depth repairs and troubleshooting of shop infrastructure systems (this may include replacement of major components or installation of new systems)
• Help maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs that have been performed
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• 1 year of maintenance experience, preferred
• English speaker, required
• Maintain a current, valid driver's license and a clean driving record, required
• Basic knowledge of maintenance, minor repairs, and hydraulics
• Must be able to read and follow manufacturer instruction and blueprints
• Personable, reliable, teamwork oriented, can professionally interact with personnel at all levels of the organization
• Must be physically able to frequently lift or move up to 45 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces
• Must be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines including potential emergency response situations
• Able to work in Office 365 applications and capable of learning internal programs
• This position requires bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and crawling, walking on uneven surfaces, and climbing equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
• Must be physically able to safely perform duties during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days, holidays, and weekends
• Must be physically able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme hot and cold temperatures
