PAYROLL TAX ANALYST

We are recruiting on behalf of a large, global company offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroll Tax Analyst to join their team. As a Payroll Tax Analyst, you will be a key member of the Corporate Tax department, responsible for managing payroll taxes for over 5,000 employees. You will work closely with a third-party payroll processing firm, manage communications with tax jurisdictions nationwide, reconcile payroll tax balances, ensure up-to-date compliance with tax regulations, resolve issues, and support the payroll team as needed. You will also be responsible for booking payroll tax journal entries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage payroll taxes for 5,000+ employees, working closely with third-party payroll processors.
  • Communicate and resolve issues with local and national tax jurisdictions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and filing requirements.
  • Reconcile payroll tax balances and provide reporting as required.
  • Book payroll tax journal entries.
  • Provide exceptional service to employees and assist the payroll team with any tax-related matters.
  • Stay up to date with changing tax laws and regulations.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • 2-4+ years of focused Payroll Tax compliance experience, including filing payroll tax returns and managing tax issues.
  • Experience with a large, third-party payroll processing firm and managing payroll taxes for clients.
  • Preference for candidates with payroll certifications (e.g., CPP).
  • Degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced Excel and ability to work with large data sets.
  • Ability to work autonomously, proactively resolve problems, and meet deadlines.
  • History of job stability is essential.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
