Clinical Administrative Coordinator sits within Health Information Management (HIM) department.

This position is full time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Employees are required to work some days onsite and some days from home.

We offer the first 3 months of paid on-the-job training. The hours of training will be 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM from Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted onsite.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Manage administrative intake of members
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and / or providers
  • Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles
  • Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents / triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
  • Handle resolution / inquiries from members and / or providers



This is high volume, customer service environment. You'll need to be efficient, productive and thorough dealing with our members over the phone. You also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to train full time onsite for the first 3 months at 440 Hopkinsville Street, Greenville, KY, 42345
  • Ability to work from home every other week after training is completed
  • Ability to work any of our full time (40 hours / week), 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM from Monday - Friday



Preferred Qualifications:



  • RHIT OR RHIA certification
  • A clerical OR administrative support background
  • Experience with working within the health care industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience with working in a hospital, physician's office, OR medical clinic setting
  • Experience with working in a call center
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Knowledge of ICD - 9 and CPT codes

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
