Job Description

Raymond West is looking for a dynamic Manager of Project Management to join our Systems team! The Manager of Project Management manages and provides leadership to an assigned department or service center or manages the functions of a major section or unit of a department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities will vary with the specific position. Typical responsibilities are listed below. This list is not inclusive.



  • Manages staff in an assigned area to include planning and assigning projects/tasks to staff, making hiring, separation, and disciplinary recommendations, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Ensure staff development and coordinate training programs for new staff and identify training needs for current staff.
  • Provide leadership for assigned staff.
  • Manage the operational activities within the Systems Project Management department.
  • Develop organize, implement, and oversee programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure achievement of Systems Project Management goals
  • Render decisions with respect to key department issues impacting overall service and performance.
  • Provide input to senior leadership for annual budgets.
  • Direct and prepare reports for Systems Executive leadership.
  • Participate in Company or Department projects.
  • Ensure employees and team are following all Company Policies
  • Works closely with other departments and communicate with all levels of employees, customers, and Manufacturers both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrates drive and initiative.
  • Maintains a professional attitude in all matters.
  • Correspond with Vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to manage time efficiently.
  • Responsible for managing the project management teams.
  • Oversee all Installation projects and special programs that cover all aspects of storage and automation equipment and related services.
  • Directs job progress, controls installation costs and ensures accuracy of completed jobs.
  • Manages the Field Installation Manager(s) who is responsible to schedule projects assigned to our internal installation team.
  • Manages overall operations for Special Programs including installation schedules, vendor contracting, cost accounting and quality control. This also involves timely communications between Sales reps, Sales Coordination, customer contacts and vendors.
  • Completes installation projects while minimizing or eliminating cost overruns.
  • Identifies and presents for discussion all potential job cost savings per project application.
  • Maintains systematic planning and accountability records.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office Suite and similar software
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments
  • Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required
  • Possess working knowledge of AUTOCAD and Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Be familiar with Seismic design requirements, Conveyor system design and layout, Mezzanine design and layout, Wire Guidance design and layout, Rack and shelving design and layout, to include common industry applications, Dock & Door equipment, and application.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of Narrow Aisle, Counterbalance, and IC equipment and aisle requirements.
  • Able to demonstrate competence in application concepts, designs, installations and acceptance of systems according to applicable codes.
  • Be able to implement projects accurately and completely according to proposals and contract acceptance (by others)
  • Be able to exercise rigorous judgment about operational success, costs and hardware.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Education/Experience:

Minimum Education and Experience: Determined by position



  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years' experience in application design and/ or installation of mechanical structural systems (rack, mezzanine, conveyor, automated storage systems, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience


Travel Requirement:



  • 25% (10 hours a week)
  • Must be able to be insured by Raymond West.

Pay Range:



  • The salary range for this position is $130,000 - 180,000 total comp. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.


Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
