Albany International is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting (CAFR) team in Portsmouth, NH. As a Senior Accountant on the CAFR team, you will report to the Assistant Corporate Controller, and will play an integral role in Corporate close and consolidation activities, including helping to ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely. This role will also assist with internal reporting and external SEC reporting. Responsibilities & Key Areas

- Support and contribute to company-wide month-end close activities
- Support Internal and External reporting, including preparation of financial statements and disclosures for Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K filings with the SEC
- Perform account reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of consolidated cash flows
- Perform various SOX controls and assess process risks that could require improved internal controls
- Play a key role in SAP system conversion to SAP S4/HANA
- Assist with new accounting and integration activities that may arise from significant transactions
- Perform consolidation procedures around certain areas and assist locations with resolving issues with closing their ledgers
- Cross-train and develop knowledge of other tasks within CAFR, sufficient to support and as needed fill-in for team members
- Own certain technical accounting topics. Research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance
- Analyze current procedures and consider how they can be more efficient and effective, Collaborate and recommend changes. Take initiative to continually improve accounting and reporting processes
- Liaise with both internal and external auditors
- Occasional, but less than 10%, travel to various company locations

Preferred Experience/Characteristics/ Competencies & Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA license, or in pursuit of license
- Minimum 2-4 years of related work experience in roles of increasing complexity and responsibility
- Experience with SAP and Workiva preferred
- Knowledge of public company requirements, including SEC reporting regulations and SOX
