Role and Responsibilities:


We are a dynamic and innovative indoor farm focused on growing high-quality produce in a sustainable and controlled indoor environment. We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate Indoor Farm Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day activities of our farm, ensuring efficiency, safety, and high-quality work performance. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while supporting individuals with disabilities in a meaningful way.



  • All members of the team are required to uphold the mission and values and conduct themselves with the highest level of professionalism.

  • Oversee participants with disabilities, helping them develop essential work skills and promoting their independent job performance.

  • Assist in planting, weed control, pest control, fertilization, irrigation, and monitoring of the growing environment.

  • Ensure that daily harvest tasks are completed efficiently and accurately by staff.

  • Oversee daily operations to meet the goals and plans, correcting errors and providing constructive feedback as necessary.

  • Ensure that all harvested produce is packaged correctly and delivered on time.

  • Assist in the management of all farm processes to maintain productivity and achieve desired results.

  • Supervise and provide guidance to farm staff, ensuring tasks are performed in line with standardized practices.

  • Provide training, coaching, and behavioral support tailored to individual needs, focusing on skill development, including custodial and work-related skills.

  • Facilitate social integration and foster positive relationships between employees and co-workers in the workplace.

  • Ensure a positive, professional, and respectful work environment for all employees.

  • Collaborate with managers, leads, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and coordination.

  • Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all staff and participants, adhering to safety regulations at all times.

  • Follow food safety protocols to maintain the highest standards in production and handling.

  • Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner, promoting a culture of safety on the farm.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of employee performance, progress, and the support provided.

  • Prepare detailed reports, including participant progress, monthly summaries, case notes, and productivity reports.

  • Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as directed by management to support the success of the farm operations.


Qualifications:



  • Associates in Horticultural Sciences or a related field (Preferred)

  • Minimum of (1) year of supervisory experience

  • Prior experience in agriculture, farming, or a similar supervisory role (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of agricultural best practices, including planting, harvesting, pest control, and irrigation techniques.

  • Must have a valid Driver's License


Preferred Skills:



  • Experience working with adults with disabilities

  • Strong knowledge of hydroponics, indoor farming techniques, and food safety standards.

  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, customers, and vendors.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on community impact and support.

  • Experience with budget management and operational planning (Preferred)


Physical Demands:



  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods throughout the workday.

  • Ability to lift and carry items

  • Frequent use of hands for tasks such as planting, harvesting, packaging, and operating equipment.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, reaching, and lifting.

  • Comfort with working in various positions, including kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

  • Ability to handle varying workloads and adapt to the physical demands of different tasks.

  • Ability to work under moderate physical stress in a fast-paced environment.

  • Reasonable accommodation can be provided.


Environmental Demands:



  • Comfortable working in an indoor farm environment with controlled temperatures and varying humidity levels.

  • Exposure to natural elements such as plants, soil, and water.

  • Ability to work with and around agricultural equipment and tools.

  • The work may involve exposure to mild allergens (e.g., plants, soil, fertilizers) and occasional use of chemicals (e.g., pesticides and fertilizers) in accordance with safety protocols.

  • Regular interaction with staff, including those with disabilities, in a supportive and team-oriented environment.

  • Flexibility to work in different areas of the farm, including greenhouse and production areas, as needed.
