The Civil Engineering Intern will support the Development and Construction of utility-scale Solar, Onshore Wind, and Battery Storage Projects.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support with due diligence on early to mid-stage development projects to identify key design risks.
  • Support with scoping, tendering, and managing topographic and ALTA surveys, hydrology studies, and geotechnical surveys.
  • Assist with preparing civil quantity estimates for use in financial models. Develop guidance for estimating sediment basin requirements for projects.
  • Review civil designs for projects, ensuring that site constraints are factored in and applicable standards and best practices are followed.
  • Assist with responding to RFIs on construction projects to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution of roadway, drainage, geotechnical, and structural engineering issues.

Job Requirements and Experiences:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
  • Proficiency with MS Office is required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Google Earth is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoys working in multidisciplinary project teams in a dynamic environment.

This is a full-time 12-week summer internship starting the first week of June in our Austin, TX or Chicago, IL office.

Pay range:The base hourly range for this position in Illinois for undergraduates is $25.00-$35.00 an hour, and for graduates is $30.00--$40.00.The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
