The qualified Sr. Manager - IT Datacenter Operations has at least 8 years of IT experience with 5 years in a managerial or leadership role overseeing datacenter operations and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept. A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related fields is strongly preferred. This role is based in our office in Monrovia, CA.
The _Sr. Manager - IT Datacenter Operations is responsible for:
- Overseeing the day-to-day support and ensuring the performance, availability, and security of datacenters, cloud infrastructure, databases, network systems, and batch processing.
- Managing and monitoring both on-premise and cloud-based IT infrastructure to ensure seamless integration and optimal operation, utilizing cutting-edge monitoring strategies and tools.
- Leading and mentoring a team of IT professionals responsible for supporting and maintaining datacenter systems and infrastructure, driving both effective and efficient monitoring practices.
- Implementing and managing incident management processes, ensuring timely detection, resolution, and reporting of IT incidents to minimize operational disruption and ensure business continuity.
- Continuously optimizing monitoring processes to balance thorough oversight with resource efficiency, striving to automate and streamline workflows while maintaining high levels of accuracy and responsiveness
- Analyzing monitoring data to provide actionable insights, track key performance indicators, and generate reports for stakeholders to inform decisions on system health and improvements.
- Proactively identifying potential risks and issues before they escalate into major problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges in a timely and effective manner.
- Developing, implementing, and enforcing best practices, policies, and procedures for infrastructure management, security, and incident response to ensure a robust IT environment.
- Conducting regular capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization to ensure systems can scale effectively with business growth, making informed decisions based on data analysis.
- Ensuring robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and regularly tested for critical IT systems and infrastructure.
- Managing relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring timely delivery of services and support, and overseeing contracts and SLAs.
- Driving continuous improvements to operational efficiency through process optimization, automation, and technology upgrades to enhance service delivery.
- Working collaboratively with other departments.
The Sr. Manager - IT Datacenter Operations has:
- 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role overseeing datacenter operations, including cloud infrastructure, network systems, and batch processing.
- Expertise in datacenter operations and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), with solid experience in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments. Deep understanding of managing both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure for seamless integration and optimal performance.
- A proven track record in driving technological innovation by implementing proactive monitoring processes, optimizing performance, and enhancing operational efficiency through cutting-edge tools and automation.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing complex incident response processes, ensuring rapid issue resolution, minimizing operational disruptions, and maintaining business continuity across IT environments.
- A strong ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring high levels of accountability, performance, and team development in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
- Advanced analytical skills to monitor, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure issues with a focus on proactive problem-solving, using data insights to drive continuous improvement and scalability.
- Experience in implementing and managing best practices in infrastructure management, security, disaster recovery, and incident response, ensuring a robust IT environment aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, meet deadlines, and execute complex infrastructure upgrades and process optimizations.
- In-depth knowledge of IT security best practices, including data protection, access control, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Proven experience in managing vendor relationships and service-level agreements (SLAs) for IT services, ensuring the timely delivery of services and support.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, AWS, Azure) is a plus.
