Job Summary
The Plant Engineer plays a vital role in driving performance and continuous improvement activities in a liquid and aerosol fill production operation that includes both automated and manually operated production lines. Critical activities include researching expansion and upgrade projects, developing capital requests for new machines and processing lines, working with new product development to introduce new products and innovations, and continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive improvement of key performance indicators (KPIs) with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, cost improvement, OEE, and 5S initiatives
- Conduct routine trouble-shooting activities on the mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Document preventive maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment inspection, operation, setup, and maintenance.
- Support the design and development of products, and mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Develop, design, and execute the implementation of annual capital plans and strategic projects.
- Evaluate production capabilities for New Product Development (NPD) projects.
- Champion Lean Six Sigma initiatives to support continuous improvement.
- Identify and and resolve root causes of recurring downtime
- Identify and implement strategies to improve production efficiency and increase output.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project and equipment files.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Direct and coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Supervise field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions
- Provide technical training on production line equipment as needed.
Education and Experience Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 + years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in consumer-packaged goods, Lean Manufacturing, and root cause analysis is required.
Desired Experience :
- Proven experience with trouble-shooting PLC programs (ControlLogix, MicroLogix, RSLogix)
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma Methodology, Certifications would be a delighter.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Prior experience in aerosol manufacturing or liquid filling operations is desirable.

- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving results.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Work Environment
- 25% office environment/ 75% manufacturing floor
- This position is primarily 1st shift, but may require work on off-shifts as business needs dictate
