Position: Project Manager
Reports to: General Manager

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Manage Service and Production projects with accurate budgets and realistic goals while meeting customer expectations with quality service. Establish project specific safety and quality control plans. Be an active and cooperative member within the project team and work in unison with office team to provide superior customer service and exceptional roof work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Project Manager must have knowledge of and/or experience with all types of roofing.Needs good organizational and planning skills, able to read blueprints and understand specifications and manufacturer's installation requirements.This position requires excellent computer and communications skills. This includes writing reports, establishing scope of work and/or proposals, communication with the customer and directing personnel and must have the ability to professionally manage and train people.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Facilitate good planning and communications and assure that roofing superintendents and crew leaders are thoroughly involved with the project investigation and planning. Assist PM Administration with daily updates and tracking of estimated hours to project plan.
  • Responsible for inspecting work on various roof systems such as PVC, TPO, MOD-BIT, Asphalt Shingles, Tile, Slate, Wood Shake and Metal.
  • Price out each project to determine the most cost-effective supplier for: roof system, insulation, metal panel roofing, shingles, preformed gravel stops, copings, any specialty items such as roof hatches, skylights, smoke vents. Identify all long-lead items.
  • Review submittals for any changes in details before purchasing material for the job.
  • Organize projects per contracted scope of work assuring proper tools, equipment, materials and manpower are available and, on the project to work efficiently.
  • Review projects documents for safety and contract requirements. Ensure safety training of all personnel.
  • Manage projects budgets monitoring labor hours and materials, job site meetings, communication with the building owner or general contractor, assist with issuing progress billings.
  • Perform roof inspections and leak investigations. Providing solutions to findings.
  • Assist in training field personnel to assure job performance at a high level. Schedule and facilitate trainings as needed.
  • Review the daily schedule maintaining open lines of communication with the customers, management and the employees.
  • Conduct project performance meetings - bi-monthly
  • Conduct project closeout and post-job performance review
  • Verify satisfaction of work completed, ensures customer has received contractor and manufacturer warranties, and close-out documents.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (Essential)
  • 10+ years of roofing experience
  • Extensive knowledge of safety requirements and hazard identification
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Certified to operate equipment (aerial lifts, lulls, forklift)

Physical Surroundings: Possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, equipment and vibrations. Occasional exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. Noise levels in the work environment and job sites may be loud.


Physical Effort: Climbing ladders, walking/working on rooftops and open field stied projects required. Sitting, standing, lifting.

Domestic Travel: 25-50%
