Position Summary: Accounting Supervisor

Hire, manage, train, and develop the members of the Nashville CFO Training Program, including, monthly review of financial packages to ensure accurate and on time completion of all financial statements for month-end close. Additionally, this position must oversee the annual completion of budgets and presentations to senior management. Responsibilities include ensuring proper reporting of projections, Tax Packages, special projects, audits, etc. Backing up the Accounting Manager when needed is expected. Other duties as assigned will be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the accurate and timely completion of month-end close including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, income statement analysis, Financial Packages, Tax Packages, and Cost Reports
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop CFO Academy members to become strong UHS Financial leaders
  • Oversee the annual CFO Academy budget process including reviews and presentations to senior management
  • Work with the Finance & Accounting Training Manager to develop curriculum coursework, trainee assessments, and complete annual performance reviews
  • Assist the Accounting Manager as needed, including review of Financial Packages, completion of special requests from senior management, and review of Accounts Payable batches
  • Work with the Finance & Accounting Training manager to ensure the completion of on-the-job and classroom coursework training.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required, MAcc/MBA preferred
  • 5-8 years account experience required
  • CPA Preferred
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Communication (written and verbal) interpersonal
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Background in Healthcare
  • Leadership skills
  • Solid analytical skills and knowledge of Excel
