FuelCell Energy, Inc. has an opening for Continuous Improvement Electrical Engineer - Power Systems in Danbury, Connecticut.

Job Duties:



  • Test, validate, assist with product launch, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Use Power Conversion and Distribution Equipment (Inverters, Transformers, Etc.) and Cable, Breaker, Component sizing, Power Metering, VFD Drives, UPS systems.
  • Design Utility Grid Interface Studies and Electrical Control Systems Design.
  • Determine Electrical and Mechanical requirements, create technical procedures for installing new products in the field. Modify PLC logic to meet new functional changes.
  • Support testing and commissioning of new Electrical equipment such as Power Conditioning units, Inverters, DC & AC Load Levelers, etc.
  • Develop, test, and verify VFD parameters for mechanical equipment (Blowers, fans & pumps).
  • Design Communication drawings and program data points for SCADA devices (RTAC, and RTU, etc.).
  • Create initiatives for better performance of electrical & mechanical components.
  • May work from home up to 3 days per week. Up to 10% domestic or international travel required.



Qualifications:



  • Must possess a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as an Engineer with a focus on Power Systems, Clean Energy, Commercial, Electrical, or Facility Support. In the alternative, at least a master's degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience as an Engineer with a focus on Power Systems, Clean Energy, Commercial, Electrical, or Facility Support.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Data Analysis
  • At least 3 years of experience with Statistical Analysis
  • At least 3 years of experience with Analyzing and Improving Engineer Operations
