Machine Operator

Advantage Resourcing is seeking a Machine Operator in Putnam, CT, to operate a coating machine that applies solvent-based adhesives. This is a great opportunity to join a team dedicated to quality and safety, and you will be responsible for maintaining the performance of the coating process.

Pay Rate: $20-$23

Shift:

• 3rd Shift: 10:45 PM - 7:00 AM
• Regular 40-hour, 8-hour shifts run from 11:00 PM Sunday night to 7:00 AM Friday morning
• Overtime typically runs from Friday night at 11:00 PM to Saturday morning at 7:00 AM

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for properly applying a layer of solvent-based adhesive to a moving web running through a reverse roll coating head. You'll observe and adjust machine settings to ensure an even application of the adhesive, using a computer screen that displays the adhesive's real-time laydown. You'll monitor the wet adhesive application for flaws and make immediate corrections as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Apply solvent-based adhesive to a moving web using a reverse roll coating machine.
• Adjust machine settings and monitor adhesive application for quality and consistency.
• Perform product changeovers and cleanups to ensure continuous production.
• Use material handling equipment to move large rolls of film and adhesive drums.
• Follow safety protocols and keep the work area clean.
• Assist with adhesive mixing and monitor coating and laminating processes during breaks.

Qualifications:

• Ability to safely work with and in the presence of flammable organic solvents (e.g., M.E.K. and/or Toluene)
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
• Previous experience with machinery operation and material handling is preferred (entry-level candidates are welcome)
• Comfortable working in a dirty or sticky environment
• Strong focus on safety and attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
• Must be reliable, responsible, and have good attendance to avoid production shutdowns
