Senior Manager, Specialty Pharmacy Relationship Management

Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director, US Channel Distribution, Alnylam seeks an experienced and focused Sr. Manager, Specialty Pharmacy Relationship Management. This person will be a critical component of the commercial organization and will be responsible for developing relationships with Alnylam's specialty pharmacy (SP) channel partners. The main objective for this role is to facilitate and ensure an exceptional experience for Alnylam patients being serviced by Alnylam's specialty pharmacy partners.

The successful candidate will be tasked with managing day-to-day activities between SPs and US Commercial Business Units. Responsibilities will include the escalation of any emerging issues to the Senior Director, US Channel Distribution for prompt issue resolution. This person will work closely with US Market Access and US Patient Services teams.

This position requires building strong relationships with internal and external business partners, collaborating to improve performance, and optimizing services.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Ongoing evaluation and management of Specialty Pharmacies within distribution network
  • Assist team in contract implementation and execution with our selected partner SPs to ensure business objectives are met
  • Evaluate opportunities to continue to drive business through our partner SPs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our current SPs pre- and post-launch, as well as cultivate new relationships with other key specialty pharmacy resources
  • Provide coverage for AD, SPRM for planned PTO and/or conflicting business responsibilities
  • Lead weekly or bi-weekly calls with SP partners across all brands to drive performance against contractual KPIs with in-network partners
  • Point of contact for commercial team members for ad hoc requests on patient cases, shipments, and dose confirmations
  • Review SP dashboards and data feeds to ensure accurate and prompt information
  • Work directly with Channel Distribution team and Field Operations to correct missing or inaccurate SP data
  • Support Patient Services with improvements in CRM to manage SP patients efficiently
  • Collaborate with PS Financial Assistance Manager for streamlined screening process of patient programs
  • Attend national, regional or territory collaboration calls to provide SP insights and SP case statuses, as needed
  • Project management, as needed
  • Support new product launch SP planning activities, including coordination with cross-functional launch teams and channel partners, training, and associated materials, and support other Patient Services-related launch tactics
  • Identify trends through both quantitative and qualitative analysis and drive the development and implementation strategies to address evolving business needs
  • Comply with all corporate policies, internal procedures, training, applicable laws, and industry codes, in collaboration with Alnylam Legal, Regulatory and Compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 5+ years recent experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Ultra-rare disease experience a plus. Familiarity with patient and provider support services
  • Previous experience as specialty pharmacy liaison is recommended
  • Knowledge of private payer, Medicare, and Medicaid structure, systems, and reimbursement processes
  • Experience and proficiency in working with a Customer Relationship Management System, such as Salesforce.com
  • Proven experience and successful track-record in leading, developing, and coaching teams
  • Ability to work effectively across functions (field/marketing/medical affairs/patient advocacy/managed markets)
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of the organization (verbal, written and presentation skills)
  • Possess strong critical thinking, problem-solving, strategic planning, and analytical skillsets, with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Desire to innovate and work in a fast-paced, energetic environment
  • Self-starter who is highly passionate about rare disease
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for key meetings as needed
