Overview of the Position:

Learn and understand the operation of shipping computer software (Pentagon tracking system). Move boxes ranging from 1 cubic foot to 4'x2'x2'. Pack parts for shipping using packaging materials applicable to specific customer requirement, tape boxes shut, create shipping labels and weigh packages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Learn and understand the operation of shipping computer software.
  • Pack parts for shipping, tape boxes shut, and weigh packages.
  • Use power hand tools to close boxes.
  • Create shipping labels and packing slips.
  • File invoices, purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Complete international shipping documents



Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Must read and write English.
  • Must have basic computer software and keyboarding skills.
  • Scheduling pick-up and deliveries via various shipping companies/freight carriers
  • RCRA Hazardous waste management 40CFR265.16 compliance
  • Interfacing with FedEx, DHL and UPS (in person and web based)
  • Experience with FedEx, UPS and DHL computer applications
  • ITAR compliance
  • Customer communications
  • Knowledge and compliance with ATA 300 packaging/shipping specification

Education / Experience Requirements:



  • Must have H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Must have 3 months to 2 years ACI experience or related outside experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl;
  • Is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Is frequently required to talk or listen.
  • Works in moderate noise levels
  • Lift parts up to 80lbs
  • Always seek help when handling large parts.
  • Move boxes ranging from 1 cubic foot to 4'x2'x2'
  • Move (using a hand truck or fork lift) boxes up to several 100lbs. (always get help)
  • No vision requirements.
