About the Job

In this role, you will seek out new prospects and opportunities with both new and existing customers. You are highly motivated and consistently meet and exceed targets by prioritizing customer value. Your natural interpersonal skills help you establish trust, and your in-depth knowledge of our propositions allows you to structure deals effectively and leverage market and business insights to outperform the competition. By closely monitoring the sales pipeline, you identify new opportunities daily and encourage customers to renew their contracts with us.

Sales Specialists are key to driving LSEG's growth strategy and market differentiation. You will collaborate with business owners and account managers, providing market insights to support the execution of this strategy. As a subject matter expert, you will support Account Managers by focusing on solution sales for the IB, Corp Dev, and PE communities. You will lead deals aligned with specific customer communities and manage growing accounts within a defined territory. This role involves close partnership with internal teams to proactively drive gross sales and revenue. Coverage includes: Front office workflow of M&A, Debt capital markets, Equity capital markets, Syndicated loans, Public finance, and Project finance departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business by identifying new logos and up-selling/cross-selling to existing clients.
  • Develop and implement clear strategies for targeting prioritized opportunities.
  • Structure, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Grow LSEG's market share by developing and deploying domain-based strategies in collaboration with market development and account management teams.
  • Keeping a keen eye on key competitors, analyze their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and develop strategies to achieve a competitive advantage.
  • Focus on growth and be responsible for gross sales within a predefined portfolio of accounts or territory.
  • Influence individuals and groups in meetings.
  • Work collaboratively in a high-performance and inspiring environment.
  • Develop the sales strategy for your proposition within your territory.
  • Deliver customer demonstrations on the LSEG Investment Banking & Capital Markets workflow product suite.
  • Promote insights relevant to customers' workflow and act as a voice of the customer internally, relaying their experiences.
  • Identify opportunities to raise to Account Managers for action and share insights to aid the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer contact, engagement, and opportunity data in the appropriate Client Relationship Management Systems.

What You Need to Bring:

  • 5+ years of sales experience with domain expertise within financial markets, preferably within the investment banking field or financial services selling into Investment Banking divisions.
  • Strong social selling skills and experience with CRM systems like Salesforce.
  • Experience in selling desktop and feed solutions is ideal.
  • Knowledge of market data is an advantage.
  • Proven sales experience within the financial services, ideally at a competitor.
  • Consistent track record in a quota-bearing sales environment.
  • Excellent selling skills (identify, develop, and articulate propositions/consultative selling) as a "hunter."
  • Strong sales closing skills.
  • Significant product and workflow expertise (e.g., knowledge of financial modeling, Excel, MS Office); knowledge of trading floor tech/data apps.
  • Ability to coordinate and implement a sales plan.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $111,300 - $185,500. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Variable Incentive Compensation plan. Target variable compensation will be commensurate with the posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
