Job Description

Position Overview

The Manager, Accounting is responsible for providing high-level accounting support to our Surface Solutions organization. In this role, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the accounting operations within the finance department. This position is responsible for leading a team of accounting professionals, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. As a people manager and a member of the accounting leadership team, you will have a significant impact on the organization's financial performance and growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations and provide suggestions to improve the overall close and reconciliation process.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making.

  • Review and analyze variances between actual financial results and budgeted targets, providing recommendations for improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant industry regulations.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial reporting systems and processes.

  • Collaborate with the accounting leadership team to drive continuous process improvement and best practices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5plusyears of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated leadership and people management skills, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial analysis.

  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment, achieving goals through others.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus but not mandatory.

  • All Microsoft Office products proficiency desired.
