Job Summary

Configures, installs, maintains and upgrades computer systems hardware and software. Administers and maintains security of operating systems. Restores files or systems by designing, writing and implementing back-up procedures. Provides operational support for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment such as application servers, database servers, web servers, desktops, printers and storage devices. Performs recovery procedures, scheduling and back-ups and monitors batch processes. The candidate should be detail-oriented and work well in a collaborative environment.

Essential Duties

    Provides day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting of wired and wireless issues relating to local area network, wide area networks and job site networks. Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; regarding networking support; training users.
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and optimizing resources as necessary. May assist with FCOE zoning, VLAN configuration, storage cluster configuration, Storage Area Network design, implementation and maintenance.
  • Manages and maintains enterprise backup and restores, in a hybrid environment, including cloud-based resources and Hyper-V environments. Perform daily checks on backup job health, storage object health, and malicious file reports.
  • Manages SQL instances, including both IaaS and PaaS, as needed. Troubleshoot SQL connectivity and performance issues as needed.
  • Maintains an inventory of computers, servers, terminals, network appliances and other access devices that are attached to the network. Monitors and maintains enterprise SPAM filter, EDR, and CASB. Assists security department with investigations, deployments, configurations, and monitoring.
  • Manages OS and application patching via SCCM/WUFB ensuring patch compliance and supportability. Builds automated application deployments, maintains versioning of LOB applications, builds and maintains task sequence and associated components. Coordinates all deployment efforts with change management board and communications groups.
  • May provide onsite-remote training and mentoring for IT Support team and creates related training material. Participates with other IT staff and internal customers on new products, proof of concepts, pilot tests, and releases, notifying them of impending changes or scheduled appointments with the service technicians. Escalates service requests that cannot be resolved or scheduled within agreed service levels or timeframe. Improves customer service, perception, and satisfaction.
  • Builds robust documentation of infrastructure, new and existing configurations, and processes. Onboards new workloads and their associated dependencies into IT monitoring platforms while providing cross-training for IT staff.
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. May participate in root-cause analysis for applications and infrastructure services.
  • Provides functional and technical expertise in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of business applications and supporting resources.
  • Tracks projects and assigned tasks with Agile tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
  • CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ certification is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator role
  • Knowledge of: Microsoft Hyper-V, Hyper-Converged, Azure IaaS and PaaS, Windows Server 2016 and up, Windows Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft System Center Suite Microsoft SQL Server, and Office 365 SaaS applications
