Basic functions of preparing coils for oven bake, bake oven operations and paint spray booth operations for crane line electrocoat process. Key Responsibilities
Perform coil prep functions prior to oven bake including ground cable removal, plug/cap removal, visual inspections for coil damage including damage to hairpins/u-bends/headers/fins, and inspection for paint in the coils. Have a basic understanding of bake oven and paint spray booth operations. Operate the forklift to move the oven and paint carts. Operate the crane to load/unload bars from oven/paint carts. Remove ground cables from coils/load bars and place in cable cleaning bath as needed. Inspect cables and clamps for signs of damage or wear. Bring damaged cables to maintenance department for repair. Perform basic UV topcoat application techniques and understand daily maintenance/clean-up of spray equipment. Other duties as assigned. Required Education & Qualifications
Analytical - Understand the concepts of e-coat application regarding proper grounding, e-coat appearance, the need for proper coil inspection prior to oven bake, basics of bake oven temperature/time requirements, and basics of UV topcoat application. Technical Skills - Ability to understand workflow through the oven/topcoat areas, be observant for coil defects (dents, fin damage, paint in coils, etc.) prior to oven bake, and understand the work-in-process quality checks (work order and production run sheet sign offs). QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Prompt work ethic and good attendance is required.
