RMF Set-Up Operator / 1st Shift

Danfoss in Newbern, Tennessee is looking for an RMF Set-Operator, responsible for providing Mixer and Weigh Prep with raw materials for mixing rubber.

This is a 1st Shift position.

• At the start of each shift, check the schedule to see how many batches of which compounds will be run that day. Figure up the weight/amount of each raw material to bring to Mixer operator.
• Check the stock of the raw materials to ensure there is enough for that day; order more through RMF shipping office if necessary.
• Operate fork lift to move skids of raw materials to Mixer - operate guillotine to cut some of the solid materials into smaller sizes.
• Monitor the bins in the Weigh Prep aisles - refill each chemical as is necessary.
• Monitor the clay bags, oil tanks, and carbon black hoppers. Refill when necessary.
  
  
  
  • Refilling clay bags: use fork lift to bring empty bag down, unhook, hook up new bag, raise back into clay racks, throw away old clay bag.
  • Refilling oil tanks: pull barrel off its skid (physically difficult), attach the barrel accessory to the fork lift, hook around barrel, open barrel with bung wrench, use wheel/chain to tilt barrel over the oil bins.
  • Refilling carbon black hoppers: Check trailers at the back of plant that hold the carbon black at the start of the shift to ensure there is enough carbon black present. Monitor the hoppers to see if/when the level of carbon black gets low. Select the correct inlet and hopper and transfer black from the trailers into the hopper.
  
  
  
  
• Mixers run through approximately 10 batches per hour - the Set Up operator must constantly check Mixer's status, as well as that of the Weigh Prep and oil/clay/carbon black - to ensure the other operators always have what they need and do not get behind.
• Monitor machine at all times to visually ensure proper operation and quality of product

• High School Diploma or GED - REQUIRED
