Job Description

Danfoss Power Solutions is looking for a Full Stack Software Intern to join the Danfoss Autonomy team in Plymouth, MN. As a member of our team, you will have the unique opportunity to work on the development and deployment of new visualization tools for autonomous off-highway vehicles. You will participate in the research and evaluation of the software stack used along with developing the code to be able to visualize data such as maps, LiDAR data, what obstacles are around the vehicle and more. These interfaces will speed up the development of autonomous solutions for our customers.

As a person you are self-motivated, collaborative, creative, open-minded, enjoy working with software and hardware, and are good at working with others, across boarders and cultures.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:



  • Research and evaluation

    • Collaborate with team members to identify software stacks to evaluate
    • Research and trial options as prototypes
    • Select a software stack to proceed with


  • Development

    • Implement a visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces for seeing the data provided by the autonomous vehicle
    • Develop code to stream data from an autonomous vehicle for displaying on the UI.


  • Testing and Debugging:

    • Test the functionality of the tool on real autonomous vehicles
    • Conduct thorough testing of tool UI to ensure functionality and performance.
    • Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and other software defects.
    • Debug and troubleshoot software issues that may arise during deployment on hardware.



Background & Skills

Required Qualifications:



  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Strong programming skills in C++
  • Experience with a web development stack
  • Experience with developing a full stack solution.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with the Qt framework
  • Experience using Figma
  • Familiarity with machine control systems
  • Familiarity with data visualization libraries and techniques
  • Familiarity with hardware deployment process and debugging on embedded systems.
