Fab Maintenance Technician

Summary: Troubleshoot and repair all equipment in the Fabrication Dept. This would include all mechanical, electrical equipment and support systems to ensure machine operation.




Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Troubleshooting skills on Welders, Press Brakes, Paint Line, Lasers, Stackers, and support systems.
  • Electrical background in PLC and controller logic.
  • Familiar with mechanical background in repair procedures.
  • Familiar with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiar with precision gaging equipment including indicators, levels, squares and electronic test equipment.
  • Familiar with lock out / tag out procedures.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work on different projects based on production demands.
  • Ability to clean up after repairs have been made to machine and work areas.


Education/Certification:



  • High School Diploma
  • Vocational training in electric circuits, Repair & Maintenance
  • An associate degree in AC-DC electric, Motion Control, Repair & Maintenance is preferred.


Skills:



  • Mechanical aptitude in related field.
  • 1 year experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on Fabrication equipment.
  • Familiar with general operation of Welders, Press brakes, Lasers, Stackers, and other Fabrication systems.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with various meters to check electrical systems.
  • Familiar with machine set up and adjustments.
  • The ability to operate a computer and related software.

Technical/other training (preferred)
High School (required)
Experience
Familiar with general operation of Welders, Press brakes, Lasers, Stackers, and other Fabrication systems. (preferred)
1 years: Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on fabrication equipment (preferred)
