Position Summary

The Managing Director, Sector Partnerships is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and scaling industry sector partnerships to meet workforce demands and support talent development. The Managing Director will lead sector-specific projects, manage internal and external communications, analyze labor market data, and serve as the primary liaison for employer partnerships, ensuring sustainable pipelines for economic mobility and development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ensure alignment between Dallas College's workforce initiatives and labor market needs.

  • Drive impactful engagement with employers through the Sector Partnership model.

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to achieve institutional goals.

  • Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College

  • Knowledge of compliance with pertinent state and federal laws and regulations

  • Ability to establish clear project timelines, monitor deliverables, and ensure initiatives are completed on time and within budget.

  • Skill in developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and insights to communicate sector impact to stakeholders.

  • Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with industry leaders, employers, and community partners to drive workforce alignment and collaboration.

  • Ability to develop and implement communication plans for stakeholders, including newsletters, reports, and updates on sector initiatives.

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, workforce trends, and industry shifts to enhance sector initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Workforce Development, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in workforce development, industry engagement, or project management.

  • Demonstrated success in leading sector-specific initiatives and fostering employer partnerships.

  • Experience in labor market data analysis.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders and lead strategic communication.

  • Advanced proficiency in CRM platforms and data analysis tools (e.g., Salesforce, Handshake).

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.

  • Bilingual and multilingual preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for sector-specific partnerships, ensuring alignment with labor market trends and Dallas College objectives.

  • Coordinate and oversee cross-functional initiatives with internal teams (e.g., Career Services, Faculty, Workforce Development) to support sector growth.

  • Track and document the progress of sector initiatives using platforms such as Salesforce, Handshake, and other CRM systems.

  • Facilitate advisory meetings, sector convenings, and employer roundtables to gather insights and strengthen partnerships.

  • Represent Dallas College at industry events, conferences, and forums to promote sector initiatives and build networks.

  • Partner with Marketing to promote sector success stories and communicate program outcomes effectively.

  • Use data-driven recommendations to align workforce programs with employer needs and regional economic trends.

  • Leverage labor market data and industry trends to identify high-demand sectors and inform strategy.

  • Partner with internal departments to align academic programs and workforce training with employer needs.

  • Ensure consistent and transparent communication between Dallas College leadership and sector champions.

  • Lead strategic discussions with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for sector growth and innovation.

  • Design and implement innovative strategies to improve employer engagement and student outcomes.

  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
