The Opportunity: We are seeking a full time Loan Operations Specialist to join our team in the Tampa, FL area. This role will ensure loans are booked accurately and timely. Process loan payments, prepare loan payoff statements and discharge documents. Assist with loan modifications to ensure updates are completed and processed accurately to maintain optimum data integrity.

What You'll Do:



  • Complete loan booking of all new commercial loans, renewals and modifications.
  • Maintain and ensure the integrity of collateral, accurately and timely record documentation, and review all post-closing records.
  • Record and issue checks for payments of third parties and vendors.
  • Ensure modifications are processed accurately including address changes, rate changes, collateral changes, etc.
  • Process loan payments when received.
  • Prepare and process payoff statements and discharge documents.
  • Review daily servicing system reports of loan account maintenance to ensure compliance with credit union policy and loan documentation.
  • Create and maintain escrow information. Distribute escrow funds as required.
  • Scan, fund, and book loan documents.
  • Maintain working knowledge of regulatory and state guidelines, including compliance with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti Money Laundering program.
  • Perform other departmental duties, as assigned.


What You'll Need:



  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • One - two years lending experience in a financial institution.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective verbal or written communication.
  • Detail oriented with ability to organize and maintain an effective workflow.
  • Ability to file and retrieve documents.
  • Consistent positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous, and professional attitude.
  • Ability and willingness to function as a team player.
  • Ability to effectively interact with vendors and government agencies regarding documentation deficiencies.
