Overview

In this role, you will contribute to the development and evolution of Deutsche Bank's electronic trading platform for Fixed Income and Currencies, focusing on a range of systems like infrastructure, connectivity, algorithms, and risk management. You'll collaborate closely with both Information Technology (IT) and business teams, ensuring your work aligns with the Bank's goals and agile processes. As part of the Berlin-based development team, you'll contribute to the full product lifecycle, from architecture to production support. Your primary focus will be on optimizing high-performance, latency-sensitive Java-based backend components. Your contributions will directly impact the success and optimization of Deutsche Bank's global trading operations.

What You'll Do

  • Working on business and functional requirements, technical analysis and design

  • Prototyping new features, meeting business needs and solving challenging technical problems

  • Contributing to the definition of the future state of the system architecture

  • Reviewing other team member's code and mentoring junior developers; Be ready to lead a sub-team

  • Collaborating with quality assurance (QA) team on test automation and with Dev Ops on continues software development life cycle (SDLC) and environment management improvements

Skills You'll Need

  • Good math and strong knowledge of algorithms and complexity

  • Proficient knowledge of core Java (including but not limited to collections, multi-threading, networking)

  • Experience implementing fault-tolerant / load-balancing solutions, experience in performance optimization of multi-threaded Java applications

  • Good knowledge of Linux, basic knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) relational databases solutions, good knowledge of messaging solutions

  • Open to communication and collaboration

  • Able to take ownership of a task until its completion, rather than simply coding, Be ready to lead a sub-team

  • Eager to learn new technology and gain new skills as required

  • Attention to details, discipline

  • Proficient in written and spoken English

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
