Job Summary

The Assistant Director will provide support for the leadership of Student Conduct and also serve as a Conduct Case Administrator. The Assistant Director for Student Conduct reports directly to the Director for Student Conduct. This position does require some night and weekend responsibilities.

Essential Functions



  • Implement, and oversee departmental mission, vision, values and goals during a time of significant departmental development.
  • Serve as a Conduct Case Administrator for all levels of conduct cases including organizational cases.
  • Develop effective partnerships with external partners.
  • Implement assessment efforts related to student conduct.
  • Create and implement training and development with regards to Student Conduct for all levels of Conduct Case Administrators.
  • Investigate hazing reports independently or as part of an investigation team.
  • Serve as a liaison with Conduct Case Administrators in Housing and Residence Life.
  • Create and implement training and development for conduct board members and advisors.
  • Oversee the recruitment of conduct board members and advisors.
  • Schedule hearings and appeal boards as needed.
  • Track cases and sanctions for the department, including cases assigned to HRL staff members.
  • Conduct disciplinary background checks regarding students and student employees.
  • Keep up to date on best practices in the field of Student Conduct, and make recommendations on changes to policy and practice.
  • Manage Student Conduct email inbox.
  • Maintain expertise with Maxient, Drexel's judicial software system(s).
  • Escalate reports and incidents as necessary if interim measures may be appropriate.
  • Work with the Office Institutional Equity and Inclusive Culture on adjudication of the civil rights policies in their purview.
  • Update key data reports and access data as requested.
  • Manage Alcohol and Drug module compliance for all new students.
  • Collaborate with other campus partners (Counseling Center, Athletics), on case management and student follow up.
  • Provide resources to students regarding sanctions, including both leaving and returning to the university as a result of a suspension or interim measures.
  • Assist with hazing prevention programming.
  • Lead special projects for the department.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications



  • Minimum of a Master's Degree.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and function within a team.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's in Education or Higher Education.
  • Experience in higher education, student conduct and/or student affairs.
  • Experience in case management, triage, and crisis intervention.
  • Experience with Maxient or similar judicial software platforms.

Additional Information
This position is classified as Exempt, grade J. Compensation for this grade ranges from $47,490 - $71,230 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
