Preconstruction Estimator

DN Tanks is looking for a motivated Preconstruction Estimator to join our growing team. As a Preconstruction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and submitting estimates for various projects. As well as analyzing project requirements, gathering relevant data, and ensuring that estimates are accurate and aligned with project goals. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively with different teams to support the success of each project. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth of DN Tanks while developing your skills in preconstruction estimating.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Review project bid documents, including plans, specifications, addenda, and relevant correspondence, to understand the scope of work and identify potential risks, developing a comprehensive plan and specification review document.
• Facilitate Bid Team meetings to discuss questions, conflicts, clarifications, and assumptions related to the project estimate.
• Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to resolve design issues and ensure accurate estimates.
• Perform quantity surveys, takeoffs, and develop detailed estimates, including preparing proposal letters and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors for quotations.
• Prepare cost comparison analysis, recommend subcontractors/vendors, and support obtaining Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation.
• Review bid submissions for accuracy, finalize pricing with Sales, and facilitate hand-off meetings to ensure smooth project transitions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or other technical field such as Construction Management.
• 3 - 5 years of professional experience preferably in the municipal, consulting or construction related industry.
• Proficiency with MS Office, estimating programs, scheduling, Bluebeam and AutoCAD software
• Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a range of partners, managers, and subject matter experts
