Reporting to Department Chair for Pharmacy Practice and Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration, the Dept. Administrative Specialist provides administrative support to the Department of Pharmacy Practice and the Dean's Office.

Essential functions:
*Serve as first point of contact for Pharmacy Practice and the Dean's Office, greeting visitors, answering phone calls and routing them to the appropriate contact.
*Manage Kronos Time Management system for department.
*Schedule meetings and manage department calendars.
*Assist with faculty candidate and residency interviews.
*Assist new pharmacy faculty and residents with the on-boarding process including creating orientation schedules.
*Assist with coordination of special events including but not limited to: CPR/Immunization training, PREP week, interprofessional educational workshops.
*Draft miscellaneous correspondences and department memorandums.
*Manage classroom equipment and set-up on a daily basis.
*Act as liaison with physical plant for building maintenance.
*Order office supplies, maintain inventory & process invoices for payment, handle UPS supplies and outgoing packages; Follow up on late & incorrect orders.
*Managing classroom reservations via 25 Live.
*Administrative support to the department of pharmacy practice faculty including inputting exam questions into ExamSoft.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
At least two years of directly related administrative support experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
*Strong customer service skills.
*Demonstrated organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
*Strong critical thinking skills and must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred:
*Bachelor's degree.
*Administrative experience in a higher education setting.
