Spiritual Care HC Spec 2 CHAPLAINCY SVC & PASTORAL CARE Per Diem 84091BR Job Summary Involves the facilitation and nurturing of personal religious rituals and spiritual practices for patients, their families, staff, faculty, allied health students (as applicable), and other health care team members. Provides spiritual care and emotional support, including exploration of issues that are of meaning and value and / or issues causing moral or spiritual distress to patients, their families, staff, and others. Serves as a bridge to patient's religious community or congregation and to appropriate clergy or religious / spiritual leaders. Offers education and fosters conversation and clarification on cultural, ethical, religious, and other topics / dynamics that can affect patient care, family interactions, and staff performance. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Applies acquired skills and professional clinical applications concepts for small to medium sized projects of moderate scope. Operates independently within defined scope of responsibilities.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $69,900 - $104,900 (Annual Rate). Our department is one of the largest in the Western U.S. and has been an integral part of UCSF's service and teaching mission since the early 1960's. Chaplains are trusted and valued members of interdisciplinary teams in both inpatient and outpatient contexts, and our CPE program is distinctive for its creative and wide-ranging approach to helping people learn the art of spiritual caregiving. Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications N/A License/Certification License: Ordination or commissioning by one's faith group to serve as a religious leader and endorsement or official recognition by that faith group to function as a chaplain.
