Scope of Work: The Electrical Supervisor will manage a team of staff including electricians and technicians as well as have the ability to perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day activities of assigned personnel.
- Resolve employee problems or assist employees in solving problems.
- Verify employee time sheets.
- Prepare employee performance evaluations.
- Recommend and implement measures to improve employee motivation, equipment performance, work methods, and customer service. Requisition needed personnel, supplies, equipment, parts, or repair services.
- Explain and demonstrate work tasks to new workers or assign experienced workers for on-the-job training.
- Prepare and submit reports on work activities, operations, production, and work-related accidents.
- Maintains employee compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
- Employees will be required to work on top of buildings, in mechanical rooms, in crawl spaces, etc. to do routine maintenance working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
- Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical systems or equipment.
- Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
- Maintains accurate work records and related documents.
- Writes accurate and complete work reports for management use.
- Resolves operational problems.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Consistently produces quality products and service.
- Completes all training within required timeline.
- Performs all work in a safe and secure manner.
- Performs all assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and directives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 10 years overall work experience as an Electrician on commercial and/or industrial projects.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience.
- Must be capable of providing supervisory, technical assistance to subordinates and possess good verbal and written communication/computer and organization skills.
- Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
- Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
- Must possess the ability to work in a high-volume office area and interface in a positive manner with co-workers and the customer.
- Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
- Performs all assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and directives.
- Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and management.
- Accurately maintains and updates records to enable quick and efficient retrieval of information.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
- Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
- Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors environments. Some work is performed with exposure to low to loud noise level; frequent fieldwork is required with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and the external environment; tasks may require working in tightly enclosed spaces and the use of ladders or other safety equipment to gain access to hard-to-reach locations; some work is performed in crawl spaces, attics or on rooftops. Some work may require exposure to dust, particulates, unpleasant and potentially hazardous substances and high voltage.
- Duties require on a continuous basis to sit, stand, bend, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist for varying periods in the course of work; use hands and fingers to grasp tools; make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder; lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to communicate with co-workers using a two-way radio; use telephone, and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means; see in the normal vision range with or without correction to read computer screen, blueprints, and drafting plans; hear in the normal range with or without correction.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
- Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
