Overview
The University of Kansas Health System (UKHS) St. Francis Campus in Topeka, Kansas is a joint venture between The University of Kansas Health System and Nashville-based Ardent Health Services. UKHS St. Francis began serving its community in 1909 as the mission of a group of Catholic nuns who rose up to meet a need. Over a century later, UKHS St. Francis consists of a 378-bed acute care regional hospital, an Ambulatory Surgical Center, an Urgent Care Network and 15 outpatient clinics. UKHS St. Francis Campus is a Joint Commission certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center and Stroke Rehabilitation Center, an Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation, an accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Program, and a designated Baby-Friendly birth facility. UKHS St. Francis Campus is also a recipient of Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the VP of Physician Services, the Manager of Operations supervises and coordinates business operations for the Medical Group. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to providing backup for Practice Managers in the case of long term absence, assisting the VP and Directors of Clinic Operations with medical group strategy planning and market opportunity analysis, responsible for monitoring accuracy of provider payroll and compliance with employment agreements, calculation and reporting of provider bonuses, coordination with other Ardent corporate and local departments as needed to assist in resolving issues as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Assists VP and Directors in development of business plans and pro forma.
- Monitors provider payroll for compliance within employment agreements, bonus calculations, and reporting.
- Works closely with Medical Group leadership to ensure the efficient flow of overall business operations, including but not limited to the onboarding of new practice acquisitions and start up clinics.
- Serves as the administrator and trainer for Ludi Doctime system.
- Supports practice managers in the case of extended absences to ensure continuation of effective practice operations.
- Assists the VP in the development of presentations for Board meetings, MOR's, operational meetings and the Physician Management Board.
- Attends practice DOR's with the Directors and Practice Mangers, providing data as needed
- Works with practice managers to reconcile monthly charges to ensure billing optimization and assist with patient complaints and service recovery.
- Assists the VP and Directors with monitoring provider productivity and supporting providers with appropriate data needs and resources
- Recommends revisions in business office policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state rules and regulations
- Contributes to the progress and development action plans to meet key performance indicators.
- Remains current on all federal and state guidelines regarding business operations practices (e.g., fraud, abuse, and anti-kickback statutes)
- Adheres to safety policies/procedures and maintains quality control, overseeing auditing process to validate compliance, and reporting observed or suspected safety violations, hazards, and policy/procedure noncompliance to safety officer or another designated person.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business or health care administration.
- At least 2 years of medical facility or medical business operations experience
- Current knowledge of physician clinic operations

- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge with Microsoft office programs (e.g., Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
