JOB SUMMARY |
Under limited supervision performs work requiring extensive automotive, hydraulic system, and mechanical knowledge in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and construction equipment. THIS POSITION IS REQUIRED TO TRAVEL. The role can be based out of the Kansas City, Wichita or Central Kansas area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
- Three years of experience and/or training in maintenance and repair of trucks and/or heavy equipment, education in diesel technology or related field or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS |
- Must have a class A CDL and DOT Medical Card (or be able to obtain within 6 months)
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record according to legal requirements
- Must have own tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS |
- Welding experience
- Experience with electrical systems
- Hydraulic experience
|
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES |
- Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
- Familiar with mechanical design and fabrication.
- Experience with electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems.
- Skills including the use of power and hand tools, the use of diagnostic equipment, and experience with the operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Communicate effectively verbally and written.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Diagnoses, rebuild and repair vehicles and heavy equipment
- Performs inspections and preventive maintenance
- Prepares and maintains records and reports
- Set-up new equipment and vehicles
- Safely drive various vehicles and/or transport equipment
- Conduct all work with established safety procedure
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Work Schedule: 10 hour shifts Monday - Friday, with the occasion Saturday
- Travel Required (Including overnight travel)

- Automotive Diesel: Ford, Chevrolet
