RN - PSE Surgery - Mercy Chula Vista

This PreSurgical Evaluation RN position is Full Time with Benefits (80 hours per 2-week pay period). This role will also be cross trained to PreOp. The shift is a 8-hour day shift that starts at 0830 and is located at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista. This position is Monday- Friday with no call or weekends!

Join our team as an RN in the PSE Surgery Department where you will provide direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Required

• One (1) year of recent RN experience in an acute care setting.
• California Registered Nurse License
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
• Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• 2+years pre-surgical evaluation experience or Pre Anesthesia testing
• Bilingual Spanish speaking
• Specialized knowledge, skill and abilities in empirical & practical perioperative nursing
• Advanced knowledge in critical care practice of nursing
• Previous ambulatory surgery experience is preferred
