Salary: $59.96 / hourly Seaward Services is seeking a Harbor Engineer for our Narragansett Bay Test Facility operation in Newport, RI. About You: This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System. About the Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled and experienced marine mechanic to join our team as a Harbor Engineer at the Narragansett Bay Test Facility, in Newport, RI. As the Harbor Engineer, you will be responsible for the proper maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of vessels including, RHIB's, workboats, patrol boats, dive boats, and the 100' R/V Transporter. You will serve as a subject matter expert on gas engines, diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, Electrical, and MSD's. You will also be responsible for assisting with rigging operations, plus assisting with the proper maintenance and inspection of rigging equipment. You will also provide consistent reporting to the government on emergent issues, maintenance, and operational status of government owned assets. You will play a vital role in performing preventative maintenance to ensure the vessels remain operable for test range activity. This is a leadership role that may include shoreside managerial duties to ensure the proper performance of all government contract requirements. Work will typically occur Monday-Friday between 0600-1700, typically for no longer than 8 hours with some underway time during normal operating hours. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
