As a BI Engineer, your primary role will be to deliver business intelligence services, lead BI software development, and present Power BI reports. You will transform raw data into cohesive, valuable reports capturing meaningful business insights.
Duties and Responsibilities
List the primary job duties and responsibilities using headings and then give examples of the types of activities under each heading.
Partner closely with internal stakeholders' to understand business needs and gather requirements for data visualization and the development of business intelligence reporting
Assist with business analysis, requirements definition, source data identification, data quality definition, transformation, and summarization processes
Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and data engineers to acquire, clean, and transform data for reporting purposes
Create, maintain and enhance queries and stored procedures that support the BI environment
Create complex DAX calculations and measures to support data analysis
Monitor data quality and reliability via thorough data verification and ongoing quality checks
Troubleshoot, resolve issues, and offer methods of improvement to existing Power BI reports
Document processes and provide training and support to end users on methods of data interpretation and optimal pathways to reach decisions or answer key questions
Ensure adherence to data governance and security standards
Keep up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and trends
Qualifications
Qualifications
Specify the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job. These are the qualifications that are necessary for someone to be considered for the position.
Qualifications include:
Hands-on experience in report and dashboard development in Power BI, Tableau, or other BI software
Strong understanding of data modeling and data visualization concepts
Experience with SQL for data manipulation and extraction
Knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating calculations
Familiarity with data warehouse concepts
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Adaptability to changing business requirements
A bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, or relevant fields
Power BI certifications are a plus
Education
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field.
Risk Designation
This role has been assigned the Technical risk profile. As such, staff in this role must follow security practices appropriate to the heightened value of their identities, access, and authority, with a special focus on activities that may allow unauthorized use of PG Forsta's technology platforms and data. Staff in these roles may be subject to additional security controls and monitoring commensurate with their risk to PG Forsta.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $130,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
