Director of Marketing | Grand Rapids, MI
The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading, managing, and holding accountable a high-performing marketing team while developing and executing strategies that drive brand awareness, lead generation, and revenue growth across both professional services and product resale (VAR). This role will oversee strategic marketing leadership and planning, demand generation, brand and product marketing (including external PR), and content strategy and thought leadership. The ideal candidate is a data-driven, strategic leader with deep experience in B2B technology marketing and a strong understanding of the professional services and product resale landscape.

What You'll Accomplish:
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build and Develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Align closely with sales, product management, and service delivery teams to ensure cohesive messaging and market positioning.
- Act as a thought leader with the company, driving innovation in marketing tactics and execution.
- Establish clear KPIs and performance expectation for the marketing team that result in revenue conversion.
Strategic Marketing Leadership & Planning
- Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) strategy for professional services and product resale.
- Align marketing initiatives with company goals and revenue targets.
- Identify market trends, competitive positioning and growth opportunities.
Demand Generation & Pipeline Development
- Drive lead generation, account-based marketing (ABM), and pipeline acceleration campaigns.
- Optimize digital marketing (SEO, PPC, social media, website) to increase brand visibility and customer engagement.
- Implement marketing automation tools and CRM strategies to maximize efficiency and impact.
Brand and Product Marketing Management
- Manage how others see and feel about Vervint, where we show up in our communities for our customers and maintaining a positive corporate image externally.
- Position our firm's consulting/hardware solutions in the technology marketplace.
- Develop buyers personas with compelling value propositions and messaging frameworks.
- Create and maintain marketing collateral, case studies and sales enablement materials
Content Strategy & Thought Leadership
- Oversee content marketing efforts, ensuring alignment with sales and industry trends.
- Develop compelling blogs, whitepapers, case studies and executive-level thought leadership content.
- Ensure consistent and impactful messaging across all channels.
Partner and Vendor Marketing
- Manage co-marketing programs with strategic partners (AWS, Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, etc.) to maximize MDF (Market Development Funds) utilization.
- Build strong relationships with OEM and distribution partners to align messaging and sales enablement initiatives.
- Develop partner-focused campaigns that increase joint sales opportunities and reseller revenue.
Sales Enablement & Field Marketing
- Create and maintain sales playbooks, competitive battle cards, and value messaging frameworks.
- Develop training materials, presentations, and case studies to support sales teams.
- Organize field marketing events, webinars, and executive briefings to drive customer engagement.
Performance Analytics & Budget Management
- Track marketing KPIs, including MQL-to-SQL conversion rates, pipeline contribution, and ROI.
- Own and optimize the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
- Continuously analyze performance data and adjust strategies to improve outcomes.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven success in strategic marketing leadership, demand generation, brand management and public relations.
- Strong knowledge of SEO, PPC, ABM, and lead nurturing and digital marketing strategies.
- Experience working with OEM/vendor partners and leveraging MDF programs.
- Data-driven mindset with expertise in marketing analytics, automation tools and CRM.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent required.
- 10+ years of PR and B2B marketing experience, preferably in a technology consulting, professional services or VAR environment.
