Temple University's Main Campus Grounds Department is searching for a Landscaper/Groundskeeper.
Hourly Rate: $22.07
Work Schedule: Wed - Sat/6am to 430pm ***Four day work week***
Position Summary Reporting to the Associate Director of Grounds Operations, the Driver, Groundskeeper must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license (or the ability to obtain one) and report changes in driver's license status to supervision immediately. Skillfully and safely operate various stick shift and automatic transmission trucks, tractors, skid loaders, and other landscape equipment. Perform labor for groundskeeping services on the Temple University campus and related areas as assigned. This includes landscape/horticultural work, turf care, athletic field maintenance, litter/trash removal, snow removal, hard surface cleaning, and other duties as directed. Follow University work rules and safety procedures in the completion of assigned tasks. Maintain work areas and equipment in a safe and orderly condition. Professionally interact with others. Report unsatisfactory conditions to the proper supervisor. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience: *High school diploma or equivalent required. *A minimum of two years of verifiable full-time employment or college-level coursework in groundskeeping, landscaping, horticulture, or a related field. *An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities: *Valid driver's license *Ability to drive stick shift vehicles *Skillfully operate skid loaders, tractors, and other common landscape equipment *Demonstrated knowledge of grounds-keeping, landscaping, and horticulture *Ability to understand and follow written instructions
