We are seeking an experienced Ship Side Designer to support Material Review Board (MRB) Engineers in the review and resolution of nonconforming aerospace structures and components. This role requires expertise in aircraft structural design, hands-on experience with CAD modeling, and an understanding of MRB processes to develop and document repair solutions in coordination with engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
*Work alongside MRB Engineers to develop and implement repair solutions for nonconforming aircraft structures.
*Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings in support of repair dispositions.
*Ensure compliance with aerospace design standards, structural integrity, and manufacturing feasibility.
*Review engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications to support MRB activities.
*Collaborate with manufacturing, stress, and liaison engineers to ensure repair designs meet structural and regulatory requirements.
*Assist in maintaining technical documentation and provide updates to design configurations as necessary.
*Work in a fast-paced production environment, responding quickly to in-service or production aircraft issues.
*Utilize PLM and CAD software such as CATIA V5, Enovia, LCA to create and revise detailed design documentation.
Required Qualifications:
*5+ years of experience in aerospace structural design, with exposure to MRB repair solutions preferred.
*Proficiency in CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
*Strong understanding of aircraft structures, materials, and repair principles.
*Experience working in a production or modification environment supporting aircraft build, maintenance, or repair.
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T principles.
*Familiarity with aerospace MRB processes, FAA, and OEM repair requirements.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills to interface with engineers, mechanics, and production teams.
*Bachelor"s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related engineering field preferred (relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree).
Preferred Qualifications:
*Previous experience supporting Boeing, Airbus, or military aircraft programs.
*Hands-on experience working in an MRB, liaison engineering, or sustainment environment.
*Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes such as composites, sheet metal, and machining.
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $110,000 to $160,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
