The Federal Research Division (FRD) is the fee-for-service, full cost-recovery research, translation, & analysis service of the Library of Congress. FRD administers the Federal Research Program. This program provides research reports, translations, & analytical studies for entities of the Federal Government & the District of Columbia, & for which program there has been established in the United States Treasury a revolving fund into which funds are deposited without fiscal year limitation. Supervises a group of employees performing work up to the GS-13 level. Supervises the work of performing research, analysis, and technical information development. Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. Serves as an expert in the organization, development, and implementation of multiple research programs and projects. Administers programs and projects assigned to the Section. Draws upon expert and authoritative knowledge of collections, resources and other experts in the field of inquiry in assembling highly complex reports and research papers for use by government officials.
